Baxter of California Shaving Brushes

Baxter shaving brushes have a fabulous contemporary design. Our first impression was, "that is a heavy brush." This thing has some real weight to it, but it feels great to hold and the weight is not a bad thing, just something that helps this brush to stand out from others. Wet shavers, you've got two great options in the grade of badger hair!

Another great brush for the collection

Baxter of California Black Silver Tip Badger Hair Shave Brush.I love the weight of the brush. The brush fits right into the WCS #307 faux ivory stand and the Baxter of California safety razor. The brush can lather up quickly and holds the lather very good.

Baxter of California Best Badger Shave Brush.I paid a lot for this brush and hoped it would be better than what 50 bucks got me. It has nearly no spine and very difficult to load. When using to apply, it folds over too easily. If you like to build lather on your face, this is not the brush.

Made me splurge

Baxter of California Black Silver Tip Badger Hair Shave Brush.I bought this brush when I bought my Baxter safety razor. My Edwin Jagger Best Badger was still going strong after 4 years of daily use but I thought I?d splurge a little and make a razor and brush set. Wow, Wow, WOW! I didn?t think going from a best badger to a silver tip badger would be that big of a difference. I WAS WRONG! I though going from boar to best badger was an experience, which it was, but the silver tip badger is a facegasam. Trading up from boar to best badger was like going from driving a scooter to driving a luxury car. Going from best to silver tip is like going from luxury car to high end sports car. The handle on this brush is very stylish and weighty. It gives you a manly sensation just using it. It holds water and lather exceptionally well and produces rich foam. Very glad I splurged.

My boyfriend just loves this brush.

Baxter of California Black Silver Tip Badger Hair Shave Brush. We watched the Mad Men and Don used this very classical type of brush in the TV show. My boyfriend was kind of interested in using the type of brush and I got this with a shaving cream (TOBS, Sandalwood) for Christmas present last year. It was a total surprise to him and he just fell in love with this brush. Well, he had to watch a YouTube video and to go though trials and errors to get used to make lathers. He always brings this wherever he travels and I love the design.

A Very Nice, Soft Brush

Baxter of California Black Silver Tip Badger Hair Shave Brush. This is a really nice, high quality soft brush. The brush feels terrific when face lathering with creams. The handle is nicely sized and weighted making the brush easy to hold and use. The gap near the base actually has two diameters (22 and 25 mm). I like to hang the brush from the chrome gap. I put together a very nice black and chrome shaving set using this brush, the Muhle R106 razor, and the inexpensive Colonel Conk stand. The set looks fantastic!

I love love love this brush

Baxter of California Black Silver Tip Badger Hair Shave Brush. After experiencing other badger brushes like a $12 Escoli and a $58 Parker which was also a Silver-tip badger, I found the perfect brush in this Baxter Silver-tip Badger. The weight of the handle and balance in my hand along with the GREAT amount of lather produced. I use ProRaso shave cream, and in less than 5 seconds I produce enough lather to be able to reapply mid-way and at the end of the shave for that post-shave treatment. I love massaging my face with this brush. The other two brushes mentioned above don't even come close to the quality of this Baxter. I purchased 2 more for gifts. Highly recommended!

Top notch

Baxter of California Black Silver Tip Badger Hair Shave Brush.I ordered this brush after my starter kit brush was losing some 5+ bristles per shave. I figured "why not get a silver tip and splurge?" The knot quality is wonderful. I've been using it for more than 6months and I think I can count on one hand how many strands have come off. The bristles are soft (I can never go back to my pure badger) and the handle is beautiful. If there is one complaint, I would say that it's a little heavier than it needs to be, but that's digging deep for a gripe. If you're looking to put down the money, this is a great product to do so.

A waste of money

Baxter of California Black Silver Tip Badger Hair Shave Brush.I normally don't write reviews but after spending almost $100 on this brush, I felt it was only right to hopefully save someone else some money. I've had this brush for a couple of months now, and not one time have I gotten a decent lather or shave with it. If you're looking for a scarcely packed brush with terrible feel and even worse water retention, than this thing is indeed a winner. Yes, the build and look are top notch and make for a great LOOKING addition to your brush collection, but as far as function it is almost completely worthless. Literally my biggest spending regret for classic shaving supplies so far.
