NICE Razor!

This is not my "Go To Razor" but it is a nice addition to my rotation! I have the chrome plated one by EJ and it slips badly even though my hands are seldom "that wet"! This however has not given me this issue at all! I realize we are all a little different, but honestly I just do not have the issue with this razor. And while it is not real heavy (which I do prefer) it is moderately weighted and does a good job leaving me cleanly shaved with the added bonus of using very good blades! I have often used the "Feather" blade in both the black packs and Yellow packs with it, and have had great outcomes. I would however suggest trying the Sliver Blue's with this baby too! I find that I never go wrong using a Silver Blue, and found that it did the job just right for me in this great little moderately weighted razor!

I would highly recommend this as a second or third razor, not the primary but yes, a good one for rotations!

First time DE user- done and done
This is a GREAT razor! This looks super classy and if you keep it polished up, it will make a great addition to your shaving arsenal. There are always complaints about the handle and how it may be slippery. Well, I don't have wet hands when I'm shaving and I've never had anyone try to pry the razor out of my hands when I'm shaving, so I don't know if that matters. I have not lost control of it. In my opinion, the black handle makes all the difference as the head is the same as the DE89. You cannot go wrong with this razor. Just buy it. For any first timers out there who see this and wonder why it's cheaper than the really expensive ones. Advertising, probably. Or something. This is really a solid razor. Again, you can't go wrong. Really. Just buy it..

First time DE user - Everything you need
This is my first purchase of a DE razor as I have never used one before. You see the wide range of pricing and brands, and after some research into the differences, I chose this EJ DE86 and I am happy with the purchase. For starters, not sure if I would like DE shaving or perhaps cut my face up trying, I wanted something inexpensive. This of course fits that requirement. Next, after some research, I wanted a product that had good quality control; Edwin Jagger is one of the best from what I have read in this category. And lastly, I wanted a quality product. Edwin Jagger heads, regardless of the least expensive to the most expensive, are all the same. Being that is what is doing the work, the difference in pay is for the handle, and just starting out, this handle has enough weight to do the job and feels good in the hands without any problems. I'm very happy with the purchase and would note two things for potential buyers: the look and quality of the razor is much better than the display image; and you do receive a box of 5 Derby razors with the EJ DE86 which from my reading, are not as sharp and good to start out with.

Excellent First DE Razor
Got this razor as my first DE because of its reputation for performance and good looks and was not disappointed. The DE8x series is not too aggressive, which is why it is recommended for beginners. It has a nice weight to it, and I find the handle comfortable (I have relatively large hands). The handle actually has better grip than it seems, though one should probably not handle with really wet hands. I?m still sampling blades but a couple of brands have allowed me to have some good, close and comfortable shaves. The chrome finish is superb; not many pictures online do it justice. I highly recommend this razor to anyone in the market for a good-looking, medium aggressive razor (mild, medium, aggressive), and fellow beginners who don?t want to risk cutting up their face with more aggressive razors. Note: it seems that all of EJ?s and Muhle?s closed comb razor heads are the same. So unless you?re looking to pay more for other handles, you can?t go wrong with the EJ DE86x series.

DE86
An elegant weapon for a more civilized age. : ) Seriously, hands down the best razor I have ever used. Perfectly, ridiculously balanced handle/head, it feels like an extension of your hand. With a feather blade, it just glides down your face leaving smoothness behind. Truly the weapon of a Jedi Master!

Great razor
This is an awesome razor. Im sure most if not all the EJ DEs with the same head shave similar but this is the best shave I have ever gotten since I started shaving when I was in my late teens. It feels great in your hands when shaving and it seems perfect. This razor along with ASTRA or Feather blades will give you a better shave than any cartridge razor can give. I will bet my life on it.
