to each his own i guess...
I have found these to be great for shaving my head quickly and with no irritation or burns. Very close and very quick shave with my Merkur #41 open.

Quite Average
Tried one, and found the blade adequate. I really like Feathers above all.

Smooth shave with endurance
This blade works very well for me. I have normal skin (check the Badger and Blade for exlanation) with really coarse beard hairs. Merkur blades give me a very close shave, and do it eight times (the ninth comes with minor irritation). The shave is comparable to Astra, but you get more mileage (see Great shave; short life in the Astra 5 pck). The price is very low for the performance.

Not the best blade
This was one of the first blades I got when I started wet shaving. I shave my head and face. The blade last for about 3 shaves but I always get nicks and irritation when I use Merkur blades.

Best so far...
Went through a couple sampler packs, and the Merkur has stood out to be the best overall blade for me. Heavy beard, shave against the grain alot, and this blade is very effective yet forgiving. Have not had to break out the stypic pencil once since I have started using the Merkur Supers.
