The traditional safety razor with replaceable blade is regarded by many as the first mechanical razor for self-shaving. At MÜHLE it is more: a minor miracle of precision, ergonomics and beauty, created for ambitious wet shavers. The Muhle design combines high-quality metal-working (chrome-plating) with an extremely fine engraved finish and has an open comb. Comes with a short instruction and one blade.

The GRANDE version features a longer and wider handle than the original version. This model also fits the RHM SR safety razor stand.

	Addictively Efficient
	Despite that Muhle states there has been no change in the 2013 design, I have both the 2011 and the 2013 and there is absolutely a big difference in the top cap width. That said I am addicted to the efficient shave of the R41 (2013). If there is a negative it's that I change the blade more often than with my Merkur 34C

	Do not be afraid...
	This is a great "aggressive" razor. Paired with a high quality SS blade (Feather, Personna Med, Gillette Blue) and exercising a bit of caution, you will love it. Not an everyday razor, but those with tough beards will appreciate it greatly. First few uses, no nicks, no cuts, no touch ups. Take your time and it will treat you well.

	Precise and aggressive
	This is a very aggressive and precise razor. All the comments on the internet about this being a ferocious razor is true! I've yet to successfully do an against the grain shave without causing a blood-bath. However, I can get a super smooth shave with just one with the grain shave, which also cuts down the time i spend shaving each morning. Use short and very light, short, and chopping strokes with this razor, and you won't be disappointed.

	Do you dare?
	This razor is in a category all its own. This thing can sense fear, and if you even THINK of pressing down at all you'll be looking for a plastic surgeon. I'm not giving it a full 5 stars because there is always the inherent danger of permanently disfiguring yourself at any given moment when using this monster. NOT for a beginner. This is the most aggressive DE in production today, but it is also the most amazingly close shave if you can do it right. Focus, concentrate, and DON'T PRESS DOWN.

	Fierce!
	From my experience, reviews regarding the aggressiveness of this razor are particularly true. It seems appropriate, though, to mention that I’ve had to rework my technique and blade selection to find the best combination. Overall, absolutely great piece of equipment that, when negotiated properly, will result in a very close and smooth shave!
