Description
We met Nanczi of Nzen Pottery through a family member that was blown away by her pottery at a local event.  After seeing the bowls in person, the gears started spinning and now we have a new handmade lather bowl.

Nanczi masterfully creates these one-of-a-kind bowls through a very special process.  Typical agate ware usually uses only 2 or 3 colors of clay.  When dealing with a much larger variety of colors and types of clays, Nanczi had to develop her own proprietary method to bring out the beauty of the materials.  She painstakingly combines 6 to 8 different clays which requires great care to eliminate all trapped air.  She then throws the composite clay on a potters wheel and finally removes the outer layer revealing the beauty held within.  The final step includes glazing and firing in a kiln. The result is like nothing we've seen before from pottery. 

Each bowl is different, but all are about 4.5" to 5" in diameter and about 1.5" tall.  Some include her signature mark in Chinese characters (black or clear).
