Description
The Semogue 830 is a great combination of a classic two-toned acrylic handle and high-quality boar bristle.  Boar brushes are known to be stiff, but many do not know the tips soften up over time and can get quite soft.  This hand-made brush is fantastic for shaving soap and those looking for a lot of exfoliation.

Handle: Two-tone acrylic
Total Height: 100mm
Loft: 55mm
Knot Diameter: 23mm
Hair: Boar Bristle

Made in Portugal.

OK brush, not as wonderful as some say
This brush performs adequately for a pure bristle brush. It lathers fine, but not great with the creams I use. In terms of retaining moisture and heat, it is subpar compared to a well used Vulfix best badger. I compare this brush to my travel Boar's hair brush I got from Walmart...it's marginally better, but not leaps and bounds. Mine has shed a few hairs, but too many. For my purposes I wanted to find something that was equivalent to my Vulfix, but maybe a bit stiffer. I don't think I hit the mark with this brush. I'll still use it, but would have preferred to save the money if a more expensive brush proved to be what I truly wanted. It's an ok brush for beginners, but you may find a more reasonable Vulfix best badger a better overall experience in terms of what lather should be.

2 silvertips and one best badger....
They're all in the drawer. This is the only brush I use. I wish I had just started with this brush. I started wet shavng getting the most expensive items. You name it I got it. Razors, creams/soaps brushes etc... Just unnecessary! Nothing beats this brush with The Fat or Proraso or Cella with a Merkur Slant.

Save your money
This is probably the worst shaving brush I have purchased in the 50 odd years I have been shaving. The bristles are so stiff you cannot create a lather. Save your money and buy the $6.99 brush at Walgreens.

BUY THIS BRUSH!
I've been wetshaving about 2 years now. I've used nothing but silvertip brushes. After only 1 use, I like this 20 dollar brush better than my silvertips. Much better. Great backbone to work the lather into your whiskers, without being scratchy. Compared to my handmade Rodney Neep Dreadnought, the Semogue looks like a mangy cur standing next to the Westminster dog show winner...but looks are deceiving. At 1/10th the price, I'll take the Semogue. I bought it for travel, but now I'll have to buy another, as it's all I want to use.

Fantastic Brush for Newbies
I wish that I would have started out wet shaving with this brush. I own several badger brushes including a Semogue 2040 HD (which I love), but this brush is now my favorite and it isn't even broken in yet. For a wetshaver just starting, I wouldn't recommend any other brush. It builds lather very easily with any soap, cream or croap that I've used. Soaps that I didn't like very much have taken on a new life, thanks to this brush. I can't find a single thing wrong with the 830. Get one, you'll love it.
