The Gentlemens Refinery Aftershave & Shave Cream

The Gentlemens Refinery is a combination of traditional luxury and a modern understanding of personal and environmental health. Perry Gastis, an Executive Master Barber, saw an industry full of male grooming products full of unhealthy chemicals and wanted to change this. The result is an entire line that is both healthy and has spectacular performance. Items such as shaving cream and after shave are paraben and alcohol free and use the finest natural ingredients available, many certified organic. Additionally they choose sources with renewable and environmentally friendly production processes.

Best moisturizer on the planet

The Gentlemens Refinery Moisturizer I've tried a lot of different face moisturizers and this one is by far the best of the bunch. It goes on very smoothly and is almost instantly absorbed, leaving my face looking natural, not oily and my skin feeling smooth and supple. Unlike a lot of grooming products that I like to use in a rotation, this is the one and only moisturizer for me. Expensive yes, but my face is worth it. And a single bottle will last for months of nearly daily use. TGR makes grooming products of the highest quality, and their moisturizer leads the way.

The Gentlemens Refinery Unscented After Shave Balm. This was the first balm I've used after only using The Art Of Shaving's heavy after shave balm for almost 2 years. That stuff goes on thick and leaves this layer of oil on your face. If you go out and get some exercise outdoors during your lunch break, like let's say skateboarding, more often than not you get a clogged pore or too from all the sweat and grime. West Coast sent a sample of this plus some other great after shave tonics so I could change things up and this one is really nice. It soothes the skin and leaves it feeling soft and cool with no heaviness. I love the bay rums and lime stuff but I may have to be practical and pick this stuff up too.

A surprisingly great shave cream with an invigorating aniseed scent

The Gentlemens Refinery Black Ice Shave Cream.Consistency: 8.5. A thicker cream than most. Wouldn't need quite as much as typical to produce a lot of lather. Fragrance : 8.0. Interesting scent. A good scent of Anise, quite invigorating. I liked it but it could go either way with many people. Lather: 8.5 Very easy to lather up well. A fair amount of light creamy lather. Not heavy thick lather but very good creamy lather. Shave: 8.5. Good standard shave with this cream. Fair glide. Just started to dry out at the end of the 3rd pass but very acceptable. Razor clog. 9. Very easy to rinse off razor while shaving. One of the best so far. Aftershave moisturisation: 7. A fair amount of after shave moisturisation. Not as good as others but still left the skin feeling good. Would likely need an after shave moisturiser but I generally use one in my routine. (Best is Geo F Trumpers Skin Food). Overall: 8.5 Recommend? Yes, definitely. So long as the aniseed fragrance is what you like. A good quality cream. Lather not as richly thick as the top of the line very expensive brands but excellent and good value none the less.

The Gentlemens Refinery The Standard After Shave Balm.I am shocked that I am the first to review this product! While it is quite expensive, it certainly is the single-most best aftershave I have tried. I LOVE this stuff. It goes on easy, without the heavy or oily feel and takes the burn away! I have yet to see how long it will last me, but I can say that I will be buying another when mine is empty. It is recommended to use two pumps per application. I find a pump in a half is perfect, if you can measure it carefully.
