D.R. Harris Shaving Soap

D.R. Harris & Company has stood the test of time. They were established before 1790 as an apothecary shop and the family business soon moved into other areas, selling lavender water, colognes and perfumes. They have established plenty of ties to royalty in England and have received honor for their work. The company was appointed Chemist to his Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales in 2002. They also received a Royal Warrant from Her Majesty the Queen in 2012. The quality of their shaving creams, soaps, aftershaves, colognes, and hair products are appreciated all over the world today. We are proud to carry this line! The scents are complex and we love to help our customers appreciate all of the characteristics that are present in them. We are always honest with our recommendations at West Coast Shaving, and this entire line is one we never hesitate to recommend.

D.R. Harris Shaving Soap Reviews
Great lather and nice subtle scent
D.R. Harris Eucalyptus Shaving Cream Tube I'm a Taylor of Old Bond Street guy but this one might have convinced me to change.
DRHarris Sandalwood Shaving Soap
D.R. Harris Sandalwood Bowl Refill Another wonderful shave soap from my favorite maker, this DR Harris Sandalwood is just as easy to work with to create a perfect, cushioning, slick and luxurious lather as their other offerings. An excellent addition to my soap rotation.

While the scent is pleasant, I can't really say that it is a sandalwood scent. At times I will catch a faint whiff of that, but usually more one of a pleasant blend of other soft spices such as cardamom. Preferable to the overpowering near-synthetic sandalwood scent of the older Art of Shaving soap, but I am still looking for that "just right" sandalwood scent.
English Gentleman
D.R. Harris Windsor Shave Cream Bowl Much like the other reviewers say, this smells like what I imagine a British nobleman would smell like. Very refined like an upscale barbershop scent. Similar to Jermyn Street, but I feel it smells just a bit more sophisticated. Now, is it enough to spend the extra money? Depends on if you don’t mind spending money on quality shaving products and look for variety over value. If you’re looking for value I’d probably go Taylor of old bond, but for me, I value variety and this was a great choice. I like it so much, I’m going to purchase the aftershave and possibly the cologne!
Love it
D.R. Harris Windsor Shave Cream Bowl I am not an expert on shaving creams or soaps, but I really like this stuff. I'm pretty new to the wet shaving scene and I have problems getting a good lather sometimes, usually when I'm in a hurry and not paying enough attention to what I'm doing. However, I can tell that this is a high quality product. I also have the Shave Milk of the same scent, which I highly recommend. I was using proraso green, which isn't a bad cream, but I do like this stuff more.
D R Harris Shave soap
D.R. Harris Arlington Shaving Soap Refill great lather great smell no perfume smell does not make me sneeze like some others
Awesome stuff
D.R. Harris Windsor Aftershave Milk I have pretty sensitive skin, and I am still pretty new to wet shaving. My lather and technique aren't always the very best so I sometimes get a little bit of irritation. This stuff soothes it very well! I always pay with a cold cloth, alum block, and then put on aftershave, but this stuff is so much better than the protagonist that I was using. Prorating probably is fine for some people, but for my sensitive skin this works wonders. It's more like a lotion so it helps with dryness also. I would highly recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin, or someone learning about wet shavings since it work wonders on mild irritation. If you destroy your face, it probably won't work. This isn't a magic potion, but it it's great for those spots were you might have used too much pressure by accident to help smooth razor burn. As for the scent, it has a bit of a more floral tone than the other Windsor products that I have, but it seems to fade after a while. It's not a bad kind of floral though. Even if you don't like the scent, the performance of this product is worth it to me. Also, the Windsor shaving cream/soap is also very nice along with the deodorant and cologne. Windsor is definitely my favorite followed by Geo Trumper's Eucris.
Nice scent, but stronger here than in the soap
D.R. Harris Arlington Milk Aftershave I have the Arlington soap and it’s one of my go-to’s, but the scent seems more strongly present in the Milk, and it’s not a shy, retiring kind of scent to begin with. That said, it does lie down after a bit; just be warned that it goes on quite strong. Also, the consistency of the Milk takes some getting used to. It’s decidedly thin and liquid. But it absorbs well and feels good, and a little bit goes a long way. All told, would I buy the Milk again? Maybe. But it wouldn’t be my first choice, especially compared to other balms like Proraso and Castle Forbes.
Nice quality
D.R. Harris Safety Razor, Ebony/Chrome The razor is everything I hoped for. It feels like a nice quality product and does the job very well. I’m still new to this game of shaving products but I feel good about the purchase. Thanks
