Penhaligon's Bayolea Shaving Soap in Wooden Bowl Beautiful presentation in a wooden bowl. Looks great on a granite sink. Lathers up well, delicate scent does not linger??_

Worth it

Penhaligon's Endymion Shaving Cream in a Tube "I was expecting a rather floral scent, considering the source, and was surprised, pleasantly I think, that it was virtually scentless. With nowhere??to hide, you concentrate more on the quality of the lather. Literally, no comparison. This is the best lather among perhaps a dozen high-end soaps and creams, from WCS's "luxury" sampler to another half dozen I filled in based on personal knowledge of the brands. I think as a general rule these fancy creams are worth their additional. expense. You're rarely disappointed. They are formulated to produce more and better lather than the cheaper creams, so the cost often comes out even. But this one, to my shock, was--for my tastes and needs--clearly better than all the rest. It not only lathered up generously, the character of the lather was notable: the bubbles were more durable, more compact, and slicker. They did not break down and run away as several "big-latherers" have done. They stay where you put them throughout the shave, and their compactness made it easy to see where your blade had been at work and where not yet. Moreover, the bubbles were beautifully slick, guiding your blade on a nick-free journey. This was especially welcome in the bumpy and dangerous area around nose and mouth.

Formula seems changed

Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet Shaving Soap "The new formula, or whatever has happened, still creates a good lather and produces a nice shaving surface on the skin. But the color of the soap has changed (no biggie) and the scent has nearly disappeared (odd and a little disappointing). I still enjoy the soap, however, and would recommend it.

Great Shaving Cream

Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet Shaving Cream, Jar I recently received this shaving cream and was very impressed. The fragrance is great and I received the smoothest shave since I started using a straight razor. I usually do two passes, sometimes even three; with the Penhaligon I probabley could have quit at one. It's expensive, but to me it was well worth the price.

Penhaligon's Bayolea Soothing Balm. It's tricky to rate the value of Penhaligon's because it is definitely more expensive than a lot of product out there. But the fragrances are always unique, and I don't recall ever having a bad shave with them. So when you combine the way it treats your skin with how long the product (especially the shaving soap) actually lasts, you have to rate it pretty good value. Not for everyone, but it is really an excellent brand

Best Overall Shave Cream

Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet Shaving Cream, Jar.Look past the price and just focus on the product. To begin, yes the packaging helps rationalize the price and then just opening the jar your senses are treated with the flagship scent of Penhaligon's. Now for the actual lather; for which I used a Georgetown pottery scuttle and I used proraso green pre-shave cream. First, I soaked my brush in the scuttle, then I shook the brush dry and scoped up a bit of the cream with the wet tip of my brush. This cream absolutely explodes like TOBS in the scuttle with the bonus being the scent. You wake up with the smell of citrus and then put at ease with lavender and musk. For the lather this cream is pretty versatile since you can use little water for a nice thick lather or add a few drops for a slick lather similar to Xpec or St James. Or just add a little more lather for a lather similar to Tabac soap. As for the shave, I have used feather blades and a dovo straight, went with the grain, lathered again and then shaved against the grain. No irritation whatsoever! In fact, I think I use less cream than I would with castle forbes, I had just enough cream left over to make a third pass then rinse off to get more of scent and keep my skin feeling smooth. At the end my skin was so smooth that I did not have to apply an aftershaves, balms or even witch hazel oil. Please note that I have to shave twice a day, so no irritation never happens, this is the first shave cream that did this for me. As for the price, go back a few lines and read where I mentioned that I used less cream than I would with castle forbes. Therefore, this product is worth the price if you are a fan of the timeless fragrance. If not, then by all means look to TOBS, Tabac soap or proraso for a more cost effective way to get a great wet shave. I still stand buy penhaligon's shave cream. It was a great luxury shave that I know will last me the whole day.

Lush

Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet Shaving Cream in Tube.A beautifully smooth shaving cream, good fresh scent, and I find that a comparatively small amount will give me all the lather I need (using a bowl) so the cost/shave ratio is less than it first appears.
