Thayers

Thayers has been around since 1847, and was founded by Henry Thayer M.D. who originally established the company with herbal extracts for the medical profession. While the company changed ownerships a few times after Henry's death, the goal has remained the same, to provide effective, natural remedies. The Witch Hazel line of products was introduced in 1989 and has stood behind it's stand to make high quality toners that will soothe, clean and soften your skin all at the same time. With a variety or scents, there is something for everyone with these toners. Whether you are looking for something to smooth out your skin tone, close up your pores and provide some relief after shaving, or looking to soothe a rash, burn or insect bite, Thayer's will surely be therapeutic for you.

Love Thayer's Witch Hazel

Thayers Alcohol-Free Original Witch Hazel w/ Aloe Vera Toner, 12oz I was reluctant to try Witch Hazel as an aftershave. To me it was always that weird bottle that sat under the sink next to the rubbing alcohol when I was growing up. Well after reading online how so many wet shaver sing the praises of Witch Hazel and its soothing properties a light went off in my head "aha thats what the Witch Hazel is for!". So I ordered a bottle, gave it a go and discovered I really like this stuff as an adtershave. Its cooling, soothing, unscented and does not interfere with any cologne I might want to use. Overall Thayers is now a fixture in my shave kit.

Thayers Alcohol-Free Cucumber Witch Hazel w/ Aloe Vera Toner, 12oz I'm new to wet shaving so I really didn't know what and what not to buy. I do remember applying an aftershave a long time ago after shaving with a cheap plastic disposable razor and it burned! I read other reviews saying the Thayers Witch Hazel Toner was good didn't sting and was good to apply. Like I said, I'm new to wetshaving so I'm not sure why I need to use this, I just do. Besides that, it doesn't sting and it really does have a very slight cucumber scent that fades quickly. Even though there's no alcohol, I still need to apply a balm + lotion because my skin get's really dry. I'd probably buy it again.

Beard oil?

Thayers Alcohol-Free Original Witch Hazel w/ Aloe Vera Toner, 12oz No it's not beard oil, but sometimes I use it for that purpose. Also great for an aftershave if you don't like the sting from other aftershaves. Love this, and the "Rose Petal" version.

GREAT stuff!

Thayers Lemon Witch Hazel w/ Aloe Vera Astringent,12oz Since I shave in the shower, as soon as I step out, I splash this on....it has a slight tingle, but it is very refreshing, and it smells wonderful! Once it evaporates, I splash on my aftershave (which doesn't 'burn' as much, since the Thayers closes your pores up...); then finish up with some unscented after shave balm for skin conditioning. Considering the outrageous prices of SOME of this shaving stuff--I consider Thayers a bargain!! It lasts a pretty long time, as well....
