Soapy Bathman Shave Soap, Orang-ouli "One of my absolute favorite soaps of all time. I happen to love citrusy scents so this scent appealed to me. The scent is stronger than most soaps but it fades a little while shaving so it shouldn't be overpowering where you smell it through your aftershave. It is a hard puck so i'd advise to soak it for a little while but i don't know that the brush matters; i had no problem with a silver tip badger building a nice lather. performance is great with a great cushion and slickness. skin was smooth after as well. it is also a large puck and being it's so hard i anticipate it lasting a while and being worth the 20 bucks. overall, excellent soap and totally worth the price.

Another Soapy Bathman Favorite

Soapy Bathman Shave Soap, Orang-ouliThis is my second Soapy Bathman soap and I am very pleased with it. The scent is outstanding. Because it is a hard soap, I bloom with fairly hot water for a few minutes (as recommended by Soapy Bathman). After blooming, the soap loads and lathers wonderfully. Building a lather is a treat (I use either a boar or synthetic brush) and it provides fine cushion and slickness. Though I have only been a traditional wet shaver for about 7 months, of the soaps I have purchased (and there have been a number of them), Soapy Bathman is in my top 5. As another reviewer stated, the puck was loose inside the jar, but it did not affect the performance at all. YMMV, but for me, Soapy Bathman Orang-ouli is a top performing product with a wonderful scent, and good cushion, protection, glide and slickness. I also like that the container is large enough to make loading the brush quite easy without making too much of a mess.

Good Soap, but you have to work for it.

Soapy Bathman Shave Soap, Desperado.SB Desperado has a great scent that more than lives up to its description and lingers on the face for some time after the shave. The lather is good, but not as thick as similar products such as those from the Chiseled Face. That being said, Desperado has a more appealing scent than the comparable Ghost Town Barber. The one drawback of this soap is that it does not build a lather with the ease of other products. It is a HARD soap like no other. You must invest some time in loading the brush to get enough on their to build an adequate lather, and Desperado also lends itself much more to bowl lathering than face lathering. Although not my favorite at first, it has grown on me with use and I would buy this soap again.

Amazing Lather and Scent!

Soapy Bathman Shave Soap, Spices of Provence.I was a bit worried about this whenfirst opening the container, the patchouli scent was strong and near overpowering, I could barely pick out the lavender notes. However I was extremely shocked at how much that changed once I started to Lather the soap. The soap created a nice hydrated Lather quickly and easily. I was so shocked I had to Lather it again the next morning to make sure it wasn't a fluke! Overall an amazing soap, with an easy to build lather that is both hydrating and protective, and creates a nice scent when lathered.

great shaving soap; surprising fragrance

Soapy Bathman Shave Soap, Cigar Lounge.Like all of the Bathman's soaps which I've tried, Cigar Lounge overflows with a rich, slick, protective lather for a close, comfortable shave. And the super dense puck looks like it will last forever. I was a bit surprised by the scent, however. To my nose, it smells nothing like fresh tobacco, cured tobacco, or burning tobacco. I just get a pleasant spicy scent that reminds me of Irish Spring soap. (To be fair, I should note that I've never detected tobacco in any fragrance - e.g. Aramis Havana EDT - that supposedly contains tobacco notes.) So this one will remain in my rotation, but it probably won't be a repeat purchase.

A Superlative Shaving Soap

Soapy Bathman Shave Soap, Tropical Lime. This shaving soap explodes with a rich, slick, protective lather after just a few passes with a badger brush. The fragrance is of freshly cut limes and does indeed evoke the Caribbean isles. (It's strong enough to be enjoyed throughout the shave, but then fades to a pleasant skin scent.) Although I have sensitive skin, I obtained a smooth shave with no irritation or discomfort. Highly recommended.
