Parker Travel Shave Brush, Brushed Aluminum, Pure Badger

the brush is nice, the price was good, and light weight, the handle is hollow ? can't figure out why?. But i would think the bristles would get buggered up keeping in your dopp bag.

Excellent Travel Brush

To the gentleman who can't figure out why the tube is hollow, its because the brush travels inside the tube, which keeps your brush from getting destroyed at the bottom of your Dopp bag. Simply unscrew the brush head and slip into the tube, metal-side first, then screw the top on. Hope this helps! Love my Parker travel brush a treat.

Very Pleased

Good price for a good, well-made travel brush. The knot seems solid, holds a good supply of lather, and fits nicely in my Dopp kit. For the gentleman who cannot figure out why the handle is hollow, the brush is meant to be stored *inside* the handle when traveling just so the hairs *won't* get buggered in your bag. Unscrew both ends of tube, slip brush into tube (metal side first, NOT brush side first), and then screw medal cap on. Voila!

A Travel Indulgence

I have been shaving with safety razors for seven years, wishing to take my razors and soap with me, but stymied by TSA. I still am stymied by my inability to bring blades with me as carry-on, but I recently took to using soap samples and lathering on my face instead a bowl. It can be done! The Parker Travel brush is my first foray into this and I am still a newbie, but very impressed with this brush. Yes, pure badger hair takes a little breaking in and the West Coast Shaving Brush Startup Guide was very helpful in understanding that (Thanks, folks!). Let me tell you that the ability to pamper yourself a bit while traveling should not be missed! Mildly harsh at first, breaking in the hairs was done quickly at home in the first weeks, so that now as I travel, lathering is simple and enjoyable. Yes, I use those little shaving soap samples to reduce packing hassles. The brush falls into the aluminum handle easily and is sealed with a vented cap to dry in your bag if needed. I would certainly reconfigure the brush and dry it once at the next destination or home before storage. I truly appreciate the head attachment and storage capability in the handle. That was why I bought this and will continue to enjoy it for some time to come. Value? Absolutely! I held off the 5th star, only because I have only used this for two months.

Answers to the two gentleman's questions...

To Bruce B.: The handle is hollow because the brush head unscrews and is stored inside! Unscrew both ends, and simply insert the head, aluminium base first, into the tube, then screw the other cap on to seal. To Jeff B.: You can sidestep the TSA by carrying your blades in your checked luggage. This product has been invaluable on the road, however I do wish it had a bit more spine, and didn't shed hair quite as much.
