Made of SUS317 stainless steel, this razor enables smooth shaving. The rounded head gives optimal blade exposure and a "soft" shave experience. The roundness pushes down gently on the skin to disperse pressure at the tip, making the shave less damaging. And you can keep your shave sharp by changing out the blades. No stropping or honing with this shavette-type tool. Just pop in a new blade with every new client or new day. Simply pinch the head and the blade will drop out. Changing blades is quick and easy.

The enamel handle is made from a synthetic resin that resists heat up to 275*F. And the razor folds to nest the blade in the handle for safety and protection for the blade. The utensil can be disinfected by either boiling or ethanol (don'´è_´è____´è_´è__´è_´è___t use "sodium hypochlorite") and the entire thing can be dismantled for a deep clean.

This Feather favorite replaces the very popular "Artist Club RG" straight razor. The scales (handles) are significantly refined and more ergonomic than the previous RG. It is perfect for the gentleman who desires a straight razor shave without the straight razor maintenance.

Outstanding razor, outstanding shave.

Fantastic razor! It gives a closer shave than ANY double edge (DE) safety razor on the planet. This is the BEST razor that takes replacement blades, bar none! It is extremely well balanced and pleasurable to hold in one's hand. The brushed stainless steel finish is as smooth as a silk scarf or a baby's bottom, literally! As to the "1-star" reviewer, Just because you're a "surgeon," doesn't mean however you can shave with a straight razor. Just as if I were a professional barber, doesn't mean that I could effectively perform open heart surgery without any training and practice. So if you want the closest shave you'll ever experience with little to no irritation; and your up to PRACTICING your skill with this blade for a long period of time, then this Feather SS is for YOU!!! However when new to straight edge shaving, give yourself at least 20 minutes of actual "blade-to-face" time because if you rush, you'll nick yourself multiple times. With practice, you'll be a stud like a wizard to his magic wand or Picasso to his paint brush!

Best Straight Razor

The razor is well balanced and has a weighted feel to it.... Best straight razor in my collection.... I have one for the road and one for home...

Spoiled for Choices

In 2012, I bought a Feather Artist Club SS razor and used it in rotation with my DE razors. In February 2015, I began using it as my sole razor, and continue to do so thru Oct 2016, date of this comment. In summary, I am deeply impressed how well this razor performs. It is easy to navigate around my face, easy to change blades, and easy to clean. Zero problems. The razor does not harbor soap residue. I use both the Feather AC Pro and Feather AC Pro Super blades. The AC Pro allows me to be less careful with technique and obtain a nick-free shave. The AC Pro requires more focus and rewards me with a closer shave. As such, I've donated all my traditional straight razors to my son, who also owns a Feather Artist Club SS razor.

A little background, I make my living a a general surgeon, I'll leave this up to the pros. It's much like motorcycle riding, unless you accept that this is an extremely dangerous hobby and that you may be seriously injured and are OK with it, don't do it.
