The new "extra grip" line of Edwin Jagger double edge razors is an innovation in design. The knurled handle of this particular design contains an elegant diamond-shaped, criss-cross pattern, which is handsome in its chrome plated brass finish and designed to withstand rust. Disappointed

I was looking to go back to using a safety razor after many years of using an electric. I was looking for a good razor without breaking the bank, and thought I had found it in the Edwin Jagger. I had read some negative reviews about the bolt holding the top to the bottom being made out of brittle metal. There were complaints that it broke upon dropping the razor. I decided to go ahead and get the razor since I always take great care of my things. I have to say that I really liked the razor. It was finished nicely and gave what I thought to be a good shave. However, the negative reviews came to fruition. As I ******* the top to the bottom, I found that it would not tighten. The bolt was stripped. I do not think it was due to anything that I had done. The threads wore away after what I look at as a short period of time. I am now faced with finding a new razor and, sadly, it will not be an Edwin Jagger. I feel the company needs to address this obvious problem.

I like the Razor

I have not used it as it was a gift for my younger son. He is not YET a wet shaver. I must teach him. I Love the Jagger razor. Will follow up at later date.
