One of our most popular items, the Merkur 34 C Heavy Duty Safety Razor is a chrome finished 2-piece DE razor. The comfortable handle is approximately 3" long and is designed with a thicker grip with non-slip knurling. It's shorter than something like a Fusion, but the shorter length actually makes it more maneuverable and is typical of the old Gillettes. One of the most well known wet shaving products on the market.

Due to the popularity, this item has taken on a number of names over the years such as Merkur HD, Merkur Heavy Duty, or 34C and combinations of all of those names as well. It's all the same product and it's remained unchanged since we've carried it.

It is average on the aggressiveness scale and, therefore, a continual first choice for new wet shavers. At the same time, it's not too mild so experienced classic shaving fans love it as well. You could buy this and be set for life...and even pass it along to your grandson. Just make sure to clean it per manufacturer recommendations and it will last for decades.

This razor uses all standard double edge blades for a close and comfortable shave and features a 2-piece design. Replacement blades are available.

Merkur 3c heavy duty safety razor

Great. While shaving it was so smooth that I wondered if it was doing anything and it was. My face came out so clean compared to those disposable razors. No more of those disposable razors.

Merkur 34C

Being new to the safety razor experience, I purchased the Merkur 34C after much research and it owned up to its reputation. It’s an exceptional razor, especially for beginners. I’ve used it 5 times now and have not experienced any nics or irritation. It’s solid, sturdy, has well balanced weight and a classy look. This razor is well worth it’s value and will last you a lifetime.

No more disposables

After some research I found that this was a good safety razor to start with. After years and years of shaving with disposables every-time my neck is red and irritated. I said goodbye to that today! Smoothest shave ever. No tugging or pulling or any redness. Best purchase of 2020.

A classic for a reason

I estimate that <90% of traditional shaving enthusiasts have owned this razor at some point in time. It looks small but it is not a toy; it has a good amount of weight and the balance is quite simply perfect. It turns around itself effortlessly. The blade gap is quite wide but it is not aggressive or "bitey". This is a perfect design. It only has one flaw: The dreaded ZAMAK from which it is made. In practice, this is far less of an issue than it is made out to be, but I know I am not alone in praying for a solid steel or brass version from Merkur.
