Still the best
I've had this razor for some time now and have found the level 4 to work best for me. I have to say that compared to the Rex Ambassador, the Karve, the Feather and my refurbished Gillette Slim ( all excellent) this is the one I reach for the most. Provides a nick-free close and comfortable shave every time, using my favorite Astra blades. Just the right weight too.
Great razor for any shaver.
Great razor for any shaver. Will last a lifetime.
Best shave I ever had with a 4 time ear Merkur blade, nice
Rockwell 6S stainless steel adjustable razor
This is an attractive and well made stainless steel instrument. The material, weight, balance and shave performance are the best. I also have the REXEL Supply Co. Ambassador stainless steel adjustable razor,; they are both excellent, but this might be my favorite, and we'll worth the cost.
New to DE Shaving; No RAgrets
Let's break this down: 1.) I'm new to DE shaving yet I shy away from "Beginner" products. 2.) My price point was <$150; not exactly Entry-Level but I wanted QUALITY. 3.) This thing is Engineered meaning, they thought about Weight, Balance, Adjustability, Feel/Ergonomics, Durability, etc. 4.) Finish is Tactile and yet doesn't look tarnished after a dozen shaves or so. 5.) Easy to clean and doesn't corrode, simply disassemble and dry excess water with a towel. 6.) Often overlooked, the instructions are simple and lend a bit of knowledge to the Newbie about Blade Gap, Blade Exposure and Blade Exposure/Protrusion. Overall, if you're new to DE shaving like me, this is a very great starting point. You might never get another razor if you're the utilitarian type. OR, this might just spark the obsession of becoming a double-edge razor connoisseur....but who has time for that? connoisseur
