- Old Bond street
- sample pack
- Jermyn Street
- gold standard
I usually use shaving soaps, so this was a pleasant alternative. Great if you're trying to find your favorite scent amongst the pickings.
Tobs shave cream sample pack
Great sample pack. I usually use shaving soap, so it was nice to try shaving cream instead. The shaving cream is a quality product.
Find your favorite!
If you know you like Taylor of old Bond street shaving cream, the sample pack gives you a chance to find your favorite without buying a tub of each. So far, they all shave the same, so it comes down to what scent you like best.
Great for sensitive skin
If you're like me and a lot of shave creams prickle or burn, the Taylor of Old Bond Street sample pack is a great opportunity. For me, TOB's Jermyn Street is the gold standard of creams for sensitive skin: decent, fast lather, excellent protection and no burn, not even a prickle. But the revelation of the sample pack is that a few other TOBs creams either don't irritate at all or are mild enough that they can be combined with Jermyn Street for a non-irritating shave with an extra-nice scent. Except for Jermyn Street, I won't name those that work for me, since they might be different for each person. But, I do highly recommend the sample pack.
Best way to get to know TOBS
Buying the Taylor of Old Bond Street sample pack is the best way to learn about the company's many different creams. For someone like me, who finds many soaps and creams burn, Jermyn Street is the gold standard of creams for sensitive skin. It has a mild scent, so it's not totally boring, and, when whipped up with a brush, it quickly produces a full-enough, slick, protective lather. But one of the revelations in trying the sample pack is that there are several other TOBS creams (though certainly not all) that either don't irritate too much or can be combined with Jermyn Street to provide very pleasantly scented lathers. Mr. Taylor and the lavender creams are my two favorites so far. Other shavers should get the pack and try their own mixes.
