Barrister and Mann Shaving Soap, Nordost
Nordost is a seasonal scent for winter
- Artisan shaving soap
- In tallow, Omnibus base
- Scented with a (subtly) smoky orange aroma
Will Carius launched Barrister and Mann in 2013 out of his tiny apartment in Boston, MA. Inspired to try traditional shaving because of his extremely sensitive skin, he soon found a following for his wonderful soaps and fantastic fragrances. Now his fans await each new release with eager expectation.
This seasonal release soap is in Barrister and Mann’s Omnibus soap base. It is a tallow-based recipe (without lanolin) that whips up a wonderful froth from the butters, oils, and extracts. You will be sure to get the slickness, protection, and glide that you want from this soap.
Orange - such an assuming and simple scent - but one that has a long history of scenting & flavoring. However, as beloved as it is, it is frustratingly difficult to work with in fragrances. You need so much of the essential oil that it becomes an allergen and skin-irritant. After years of researching, Will has crafted a way to use this rich, citrus aroma in his soap. The result is smoky orange aroma called Nordost. This scent has an elegant richness. A subtly sweet and smoky note enhances the intense, authentic aroma of orange. Will considers this one of his crowning achievements. Enjoy!
