1 review
  • Traditional lathering shaving soap
  • Vegan-based
  • Scented with blackcurrant, bergamot, apple, pineapple, jasmine, patchouli, oakmoss, and vanilla

Kelly Hogan, founder & hands behind Black Ship Grooming, is committed to help you stay ship-shape. Initially he began brush-making as a stress relief from his job as a police officer. Gradually his hobby turned into a passion. Now, he wants to ensure that you have access to unique, handmade products that make you feel like a bold adventurer. You march to the beat of your own drum (or sail your own seas, to borrow from the pirate metaphor) so Black Ship Grooming products are designed to stand out from the crowd.

This veggie-based soft soap is a delight to lather. No need to bloom, just grab your damp brush and swirl. You will be rewarded with mounds of fluffy white lubricant. Loaded with coconut oil and shea butter, it will moisturize your skin as it protects it from the blade.

Even a scoundrel wants to smell nice once in awhile. When a pirate pulls into port, he might want a scent to impress the ladies (and fight scurvy, of course), so this Captain Scurvy has notes of limes, sandalwood, and vanilla. This unique blend will last into your day.

 Size: 4oz.

Made in the USA

Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Stearic Acid, Water, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Fragrance & Essential Oils.

Slow to love

At first, I thought the scent was kind of weird. I read what was in it, and started to wonder. But, my wife smelled it and said she thought it was great. Next, I tried to apply a dab to my face, only to find it difficult to apply evenly. It clumped on a spot on my face. I thought I would try to thin it more like the creams like TOBS. Then, I tried putting a dab in a mixing mug and that was difficult too. Just before giving up I decided, what the heck, I’ll try mixing it with my brush in the tub in comes in. Wow! It worked great! Not only that but, after trying it for a time ( I alternate with other creams/ soaps) I started to love it. Now I can only say, yes, this stuff is really nice. Now, I see why it is classified as a soap rather than a cream. I can’t wit to try other soaps from Black Ship. Love the story of this brand starting as a hobby. Some of the best businesses start that way. It’s not really a job but a passion. Thanks to the Black Ship people. Great job!
