Classy shaving soap
As described, lathers well, gives smooth shave, smells nice.
Smells like grandmas perfume
The soap itself is good like all dr harris soap, you don't need a stiffer bristle to get a good lather and the protection is nice but the scent is awful, it's very floral like my grandma's old cheap perfume. If you want a Dr harris I would recommend marlborough or even the sandalwood.
Quality vs. Value
The soap is good quality, and the bowl is nice, but the Arlington scent is very overrated. Used this soap with the Arlington milk balm aftershave, which was much more milky than balmy, and I didn't care at all for either one. You can easily find much better value in other alternatives.
Doesn't appear to be mahogany
Soap is fair, label for bowl is misleading, came with a sticker indicating mahogany colored wood - doesn't appear to actually be made of mahogany
I dare say luxurious!
I've been doing DE shaving for a little over a year now. While I've tried creams from both Art of Shaving and Musgo Real, my skin is pretty sensitive and as such I've used Proraso's sensitive skin soap. It's all right and has never irritated my skin but the lather has never been that great. This soap does it. It does not take a lot to get a nice smooth creamy lather. My wife even really likes this particular scent a lot! The bowl is a nice touch too.
