Declaration Grooming Shaving Soap, Contemplation

1 review |
  • Artisan shaving soap
  • Tallow-based
  • Scented with a seasonal aroma perfect for summer, lazy days, and thinking deep thoughts

Home-based in Michigan, Scott Stewart is the artisan behind Declaration Grooming. From shaving brushes to shaving soaps to splashes, he is doing something right. Check out his popular line of wet shaving must-haves and see what all the fuss is about.

Scott has dubbed this shaving soap base “Milksteak” for its inclusion of bison tallow, butters, yogurt, milks and more. This richly lathering soap also includes avocado oil, egg whites, bentonite clay, and extracts that enhance your lather and hydrate your skin.

When the heat of day beckons you to rest and think deep thoughts, then we’ve got the scent to match: Contemplation. This summer time scent is redolent of green growth, a hint of citrus, and drinking in the sun. Planting is over, harvest is yet to come, now is the time to reset and contemplate.

Size: 4oz.

Another quirky DG scent

I am a big fan of the DG Milksteak base, I have several scents which are all super quirky. Contemplation has a bitter bass note that I cant quite place, it's kind of like the scent of a squash leaf, with middle notes of green citrus wood, which sits underneath an equally hard to place floral/sweet top note. Freesia maybe? Contemplation is a good name for this scent, because all together it both leaves an impression that is hard to identify! As always the performance is top notch, and the post shave face feel is excellent, and the label is appealing. Scent strength is a tolerable 6 or 7. On the pricier side when not on sale.
