Description from the Vendor

Milksteak is my tongue-in-cheek name for the culmination of all of my soapcrafting experience to date. While the name may be whimsical, it was an incredibly difficult decision to deprecate Bison and Icarus - one I would not make without full confidence that I was releasing not only the best soap base I have ever developed, but one of the finest soap bases ever created.

Over three years of customer feedback, research, theorycrafting and, of course, love, went into this soap base. I focused on ease of use (softer than Icarus), slickness, and post-shave - all the hallmarks of a great soap.

Scent:

In the mid-18th century there lived a thoroughbred racehorse, presumably named after a particularly famous (or infamous) king. Were you to ask anyone on the street what they think of when they hear that horse's name, I would wager that they would immediately think of the king, not the horse. That particular king is, at least at present, most remembered for a particularly bloody-handed decision well known as the Massacre of the Innocents.

While this particular name may be off-putting, the scent is magnificent - you might even call it royal.

Top notes: cinnamon and pepper wood. Heart: osmanthus, tobacco leaf, labdanum and incense. Base: vanilla, cedar, vetiver, patchouli, iso e super, cypriol and musk.

Size: 4oz.

Great product

Just tried this new base and it’s excellent. The slickness and post shave are the stand out stars. Good price and good value. If I compare to the other 2 best being wholly jaw and barrister Mann I can’t really say because they are all so good. But the post shave is maybe the best and slickness is probably number 1 or 2 . I can’t say until a few more shaves.

Pretty Good!

Performancewise this product is excellent. Great lathering, glide, cushioning and closeness. Didn't care for the fragrance - too tobaccowy. Worst name for a product ever! Why not call it for what it is, "Herod kills babies"? What's next? Holocaust?

Very slick soap

Extremely slick soap. One of the slickest I have used. The base is quite soft. It is best to swirl your brush several times and transfer to a bowl (or lather on the face). The reason I say that is, the soap can really get in the brush and become wasteful (since the base is so soft). It is almost like a "croap" (cream/soap). The lather is very thick and provides excellent cushion. I love the scent. It is almost a warm, sweet tobacco scent. My review is only on the performance as scents can be very sujective to review.
