Great Starter Razor
Tried and true. It's a great razor to try out different blades and soaps. When I'm indecisive in my day, it's an easy reach because I know it's going to do the job.
Edwin Jagger a great company
I bought my first Edwin Jagger DE89 razor in Sept. 2014 and loved it, so I bought four more to give as Christmas presents to friends and family who were still using the cartridge junk and converted them to wet shaving. When I got my razor I noticed that the chrome plating didn't cover the last 1/4 inch of the threads but didn't think anything about it. Last week the threads failed to engage, I contacted Edwin Jagger in England and sent them a photo of the treads on the top plate, they agreed that this was a manufacturing fault and sent me a new top plate for my razor. That is what I would call a reputable company they stand behind their products, something that is a rarity in todays world.
Outstanding Shave Experience
I have been a wet shaver ever since I only had three whisker's to knock off. Now, I am 63 yrs. young, and still lovin it. I have a couple of scars on my chin and face from a car wreck years ago, so it's hard to shave those areas without nicks. I have finally found a wet shave system that is perfect and so close its outstanding thanks to the boys at WCS. I use an Edwin Jagger DE89L DE razor, closed comb loaded with Astra or Feather blades (Astra seems smoother though) with a puck and mug of Taylor of OLD Bond Street and a Parker silvertip badger brush and Plenty of HOT Water. Man, what a Shave. I have used every product out there and I love this set up even with Kell's vanilla bean soap puck. Work up a great lather and make two passes and your gooood for the Day. If your not a wet shaver I feel sorry for you. You don't know what your Missing. You can get all you need from WCS for very little money. OH, By the way, I have NO NICKS. Thanks WSC for your recommendations.
Great mild razor
This is my first Edwin Jagger. I was really impressed with the finish on it. It's way nicer than my merkurs and muhle. It always gives a close comfortable shave with no irritation. It's a very good razor for anyone who shaves daily. I was also surprised at the shave I get from it having a course beard. I find feather blades work best in it. If your looking for a new razor, you can't go wrong with this one. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
