  • Professional grade straight razor from Feather
  • Replaceable blades mean no stropping or honing
  • Handle (scales) comes in black, lime, or wine

For top-of-the-line quality and exceptional sharpness, you can't beat a Feather razor. For almost a century, this Japanese company has be crafting tools for cosmetic, grooming, and industrial use. With the Feather Artist Club SS Razor, you will soon see why they are the choice for professionals around the globe. Try Feather Artist Club SS Razor, Black (lime or wine, too).

Made of SUS317 stainless steel, this razor enables smooth shaving. The rounded head gives optimal blade exposure and a "soft" shave experience. The roundness pushes down gently on the skin to disperse pressure at the tip, making the shave less damaging. And you can keep your shave sharp by changing out the blades. No stropping or honing with this shavette-type tool. Just pop in a new blade with every new client or new day. Simply pinch the head and the blade will drop out. Changing blades is quick and easy.

The enamel handle is made from a synthetic resin that resists heat up to 275*F. And the razor folds to nest the blade in the handle for safety and protection for the blade. The utensil can be disinfected by either boiling or ethanol (don'´è_´è____´è_´è__´è_´è___t use "sodium hypochlorite") and the entire thing can be dismantled for a deep clean.

This Feather favorite replaces the very popular "Artist Club RG" straight razor. The scales (handles) are significantly refined and more ergonomic than the previous RG. It is perfect for the gentleman who desires a straight razor shave without the straight razor maintenance.

Get this functional beauty in black, lime, or wine. And choose from four different blades (Professional, Super, Light, and Pro-Guard).

Great; durable

I have three of these and love them all. There are about 5 different blades to choose from with the "Super" being the top. People say scary things about the Super blade, but it is my favorite because it is more like a straight razor with less "flex" in the blade. Very sharp, sure, but actually less apt to "nick" with my heavy beard.. The thing about these razors is that you don't have to worry about getting the whole thing wet and risk rusting, etc. Then, when a blade starts dulling, you simply insert a new one. I strop mine a little which has helped. Some say stropping does no good for these, but I have found it helps a little. But it's certainly not necessary to strop them, so don't worry if you don't have strops. Just shave away and put in a new blade when one gets dull.

Outstanding Razor

I have wet shaved with DE, SE & traditional straights for over a decade. This Feather SS with Feather Artist Club Pro blades does a fine job. It has all the pros of a traditional straight without the maintenance hassle. In fact, it shaves better than any of my traditional straights as I cannot get an edge as consistently sharp as the Feather factory. I may well buy another, probably the DX with wood scales for home and move this razor to my travel kit. As to the surgeon, maybe you are too used to cutting folks with blades. A bit of practice may bring you up to snuff for shaving - if not, I suggest an electric.

Spoiled for Choices

In 2012, I bought a Feather Artist Club SS razor and used it in rotation with my DE razors. In February 2015, I began using it as my sole razor, and continue to do so thru Oct 2016, date of this comment. In summary, I am deeply impressed how well this razor performs. It is easy to navigate around my face, easy to change blades, and easy to clean. Zero problems. The razor does not harbor soap residue. I use both the Feather AC Pro and Feather AC Pro Super blades. The AC Pro allows me to be less careful with technique and obtain a nick-free shave. The AC Pro requires more focus and rewards me with a closer shave. As such, I've donated all my traditional straight razors to my son, who also owns a Feather Artist Club SS razor.
