This Northern California artisan, Mohammad, started Grooming Dept in 2017. With formulations that include duck fat, donkey milk, and lamb & beef tallow, as well as a vegan base, he is turning heads. Now check out his preshave product as well.
This extremely moisturizing product will prep your face and whiskers for the blade. Wet your face & hands and wipe over your face, leaving your skin damp but not wet. Then apply a bead of preshave on your beard and neck. Rub in a circular motion of about a minute. You may add a few drops of water at a time but make sure that the product doesn't being to bubble. You are trying to create a film on your face. Now you are ready to shave as normal. If you do multiple passes, simply lightly splash your face with water rather than completely removing soap residue. Any preshave left behind will be absorbed by your skin, you don't want to strip it away.
This unscented version is perfect for a preshave. It can lay a base on which to build many other fragrances. So, feel free to pick your favorite soap or splash. This one won't conflict.
