This Northern California artisan, Mohammad, started Grooming Dept in 2017. With formulations that include duck fat, donkey milk, and lamb & beef tallow, as well as a vegan base, he is turning heads. Check out some of his offerings and phenomenal scents.
The Grooming Dept’s newest offering is a tallow-based wonder that is selling out faster than he can make it. Beef tallow supplies the base while a myriad of butter (shea and cupuacu), oils (castor, safflower, jojoba, meadowfoam, babassu, abyssianian, pomegranate, grapeseed), and goat milk build up into a prodigious lather. It also includes glycerin, extracts (of chamomile, sea buckthorn, sacha inchi), silk peptides, and kaolin clay. You can’t get much more in this soap!
Tao is a Chinese word meaning way, path, or route. And if you are ready to follow the way of the wet shaver, you will probably fall in love with this aroma. Notes of citrus, cardamom, absinthe, leather, cade, opopanax, and castoreum create a complex, exotic fragrance.
