Ben started Mammoth Shave Soap with a love for wet shaving and a passion to fight the evil "mammoth" in the room: human trafficking. Ben and his wife (an international flight attendant trained to spot potential victims) have been supporting the work of anti-trafficking organizations for years, but with the birth of their son, they were inspired to go bigger. With Mammoth Soaps, they hope to do more to further the cause. Since they had been making bath soap since 2014, it was natural move into crafting shaving soaps. And the result is fantastic! Over a year of mixing, testing, trial-and-error, incremental changes, and expert vetting has led to an exceptional recipe. Loaded with beef tallow, duck fat, & kokum butter, the resulting lather is dense and shiny and able to contain a wide range of hydration. It sticks close to the skin to provide a protective glide with a nice balance of dry oils and butters for slickness and moisture retention. They tested over 30 versions to bring you the best.

Ben custom blends his fragrances to tell a story and bring you a unique aroma. This scent is inspired by songwriter, Larry (Lorenzo Hart), who wrote successful Broadway hits, but constantly struggled with depression and unworthiness. In fact, the lyrics of the song "My Funny Valentine" extol the love given even to someone "unphotographable", something Larry longed for himself. Ben says, "Be gentle with yourself this Valentine's Day, and be gentle with the people in your life. We're most unlovable when we need love the most." Notes of Funny Valentine are strawberry, currant, rose, neroli, amber, cognac, and howood. It's a beautiful balance of sweet, jam-like fruit and spicy, warm base notes.
