If you enjoy smelling like you're grandmother's potpourri

Always falling in the WCS top ten of soaps, Ogallala's Bay Rum. It's cheap, so I thought what the heck. I use it. It irritates my skin. It's pretty harsh. It smells like my grandmother's bathroom in 1985 when kept a sachet of Potpourri behind the toilet. Over powering clove. I get no other fragrances. I read reviews praising the scent being like summertime. I was expecting coconut, lime, the ocean. It's just clove. Like a pumpkin pie gone wrong. The lather is decent but it's not as slick as other soaps and creams. If you are loyal to this soap because of habit or you're just cheap, you owe yourself to try some other brands like TOBS or Castle Forbes. Any soap I have purchased has lasted for over two years you definitely get your value so don't let price be your deciding factor.

Great value, great scent

My first shave soap. Love the scent and that of its partner aftershave. The lather is a bit tricky to get right to me; I have the most regular success letting the soap bloom while I'm in the shower and shaking my soaked brush quite dry before loading. It won't take a ton of water in my hands; the lather gets very flat and fizzles if it's too wet. I melted it down in the microwave and put it in one of the aluminum tins WCS sells, and that worked well. Didn't last maybe as long as I'd expect, but it's inexpensive.

Not slick

I bought this soap because it has clay in it for slickness. However, cheap dial soap from dollar general at 50 cents a bar with no clay is way slicker than this. My razor chattered so much against my skin I went back to the cheap gel I don’t like.

Great Soap

I have only used creams before and found this superior. It seemed slightly easier to build a thicker lather and it didn't dry on my face as quickly. The scent is excellent. Looking forward to using it every time I do.
