The ladies like it and that counts for me!
As a young boy I'd occasionally sneak a splash of my Dad's aftershave which was either Pinaud Clubman, Old Spice, or Mennen. Less expensive aftershaves but still gave him a nice fragrance for the average worker. I use these same products today and thought I'd try a bottle of Pinaud Lilac Vegetal aftershave just for a change since Clubman was a different fragrance. Drug stores years ago use to carry both but Pinaud Lilac is no longer stoked in most stores. I've used it this past two days and received compliments on it's sent. Very light but it stays with you most of the day. The ladies thinks it smells refreshing and clean. I Will buy it again but still like the original Clubman somewhat better.
This reminds me of the 50's and 60's barber shops where men got dusted with talc and splashed with Pinaud. Nostalgia has its place and this vegetal puts it in the forefront. This lilac has a light scent and it dies quickly so you want smell like a lady of the evening for hours on end. I have never entertained the idea of cat urine. Ridiculous notion.
I'm surprised this is even a thing. It's awful. Avoid at all costs. It's disappointing considering I love the classic Clubman so much.
I like this stuff! I do NOT think it smells like "cat." It has a slightly sweet floral smell, like lilacs and call me crazy, but I detect a tiny tiny hint of Jasmine. It's both light and refreshing and perfect for springtime or summer use. I think it's gotten a bad rap by people that just smell it out of the bottle and never try it. Out of the bottle, your either like it or hate it, there s no in between period. However like all colognes and aftershaves, it smells different when it's on your skin. My wife loves the scent of it. It's not too strong or overpowering either. It's a sophisticated floral scent.
