Longevity. Expertise. Quality. Simpson brushes have been building a reputation for these values since Alexander Simpson started making brushes in the East End of London in 1919. They survived re-locations, WWII, and more to continue to bring the world exceptional grooming essentials. Check out this popular M7 brush.

This Simpson's M7 brush is just classic. A timeless piece, this brush is one of Alexander Simpson's original designs that dates back to before 1919. It is loaded with Best Badger hair, a natural hair that produces an exceptional lather. Not quite as luxurious as the high end hair, this is a great natural hair brush.

The ultimate bowl lathering brush! Because of its taller silhouette, this brush has the advantage if you are into using a bowl or mug to whip up your lather. No more knuckle knocks or handle dings. The faux ivory look is classic and classy. You can't go wrong with this brush.

New brush

My daily brush for the past 10 years has been a Morris & Forndran Blonde Badger. Have also owned a couple of Simpson Chubs (2 & 3); found the Ch 3 hogged the lather too much, so passed it on. The knot in this M7 has the perfect amount of flow-through; builds an abundant amount of lather that it easily shares on my face. I was concerned that its higher loft would make it floppy, but that has not been the case, having just the right amount of backbone for my preference. The brush is overall quite well balanced, with the handle comfortable to hold as a face latherer, and I could see it working beautifully for a bowl latherer. It took a couple of shaves to completely rid itself of the Best Badger odor and to fully bloom into its bulb/fan hybrid shape; now it feels like a 24mm knot rather than 22mm. It’s only shed a few hairs and dries fairly quickly considering how tightly packed Simpson brushes tend to be. Overall I’m very pleased with the M7. As a result, the M&F Blonde Badger has gone into semi-retirement…that’s some high praise!

Another Of the Best

Absolutely love the Simpson Badger Brushes. I know there are other good brushes out there but I keep going back to these. They last forever so my excuse is trying different designs.

Get 'em while you can!

I have lusted after an M7 since forever. For the past several years, I only see them in Manchurian or in 2 band Super or silvertip, both of which are beyond my budget. Additionally, the M7 has only been available directly from Simpson, and not from any other retailer. I prefer the best or super grades of hair, and have had good luck with them. Sometimes a best brush will at first seem scratchy, but in my experience that largely disappears after 6-10 lathers. I was thrilled to see WCS carrying the M7 in best and in super, and I bought one of each. The difference in face feel is negligible in the two I got, which is to say that I got a fine specimen in best. The super may be just a bit softer, and the tips are whiter, but they both are outstanding brushes. I exclusively face lather, and I like the longer handle because it keeps the lather away from my hand. I couldn't be happier with these two brushes; the M7 has been my Grail brush ever since Simpson revived the handle style around 2012. I have no idea whether secondary retailers like WCS will be able to stock the M7 forever, or if this is a one off. So if you want one, this is the time. The prices were outstanding as well- think of it this way- you are getting an M7 in best for about the same price WCS charges for a Duke 3 in best. To my mind that is a great deal!
