  • Artisan shave soap from Stirling
  • Tallow, glycerin, and lanolin create a thick, slick lather
  • Scented with a traditional barbershop aroma

Stirling Soap Company began with a vision to bring something that could properly be labeled "soap" back to your grooming routine. No artificially loaded "washes", no chemically based "cleansing bars", just good natural soap. So if you love the back-to-basics nature of wet shaving, you will love this company and its myriad of fantastic soaps! Try a classic, throwback scent with Stirling Soap Co. Shave Soap, Barbershop.

They have created a healthy soap that produces a healthy lather! Their tallow-based soaps are loaded with glycerin and lanolin - a perfect storm of lathering goodness from the earliest days of soap making. Then a healthy dose of almond oil, coconut oil, and shea butter offer nourishing and moisturizing. They lather up easily with a brush and your favorite mug or bowl.

And since we're getting all old school, let's add an old school scent. This classic aroma is classic barbershop. No run-an-electric over your chin and call it good. This brings back a slower pace - newspaper strewn leather chairs by plate glass windows as the striped pole rotates leisurely outside and you wait patiently for a shave and a haircut (2 bits). Powdery, masculine, classic.

New to wet shaving...

...and I bought this soap based on the description and reviews. It didn't disappoint! It doesn't take much to get a good lather. It makes for an enjoyable shave. And like others, the scent is just, just...well I think it's really nice. I'd buy this soap again.

Somebody give me a COOKIE! :)

Forget "Barbershop." I was thinking more of your favorite local bakery, early in the morning, baking fresh cinnamon cookies. Absolutely delicious! :) As for the quality of the lather, it's about what you'd expect from "SSC" - rich, thick and luxurious. Heads up to those easily tempted to head to that local bakery for a fresh round of cookies after shaving with this soap! ;)

Perhaps the world's best scent

I absolutely adore this shaving soap. It builds a great lather, is relatively inexpensive, and is made in the US. But, most of all, I am in love with the scent. It transports me back to my youth, sitting in old-fashioned barbershops. It's such a wonderful smell I picked up the matching pre- and post-shave versions, along with the cologne. This stuff helps make shaving fun.

Surprise!

I gave this to my Uncle. I happened to call him while he was shaving. He made a remark about the drudgery of it all, and I told him I used Barbershop. He reacted with mild curiosity, so when I hung up the phone, I immediately ordered it and sent it to him. A short while later, I received a surprised call from my uncle, extolling the virtues of the soap, and how good his skin felt. He liked the scent, too, as did my aunt. Every now and then, I hit one out of the park.
