This is a great product. The quality in terms of fit and finish is flawless on mine and considering that a famous head from a major manufacturer with similar performance costs more than seven times more this head offers great value for money.
I am not sure why people are knocking it stars for being aggressive – It is an aggressive head and Yaqi does not hide that fact. That is its raison d’etre! If you are looking for a Tech level of aggression look elsewhere. With that said, this is a fantastic shaving head. It is smooth and comfortable and I can get a three or four pass shave with zero irritation with this head with no problem, I love it. The angle geometry is very easy to use, takes about two seconds to find the sweet spot and off you go. It looks much more intimidating than what it is, when I dropped a blade in it for the first time and looked at the gap I admit a little shudder went through me, but when I started to use it I was amazed at how comfortable and easy to use it was. It is more aggressive than the Beast, I would say the Beast is about 20% less aggressive than this head so if you are looking for an aggressive head but do not want or need the “most” aggression, than the Beast is another option and also a great shaver (I own and use both).
Overall there is nothing to fear here – the head does not cause nicks or weepers with a decent blade and does not demand perfect technique as long as you do not do anything dumb (which I do sometimes). While others may disagree I personally would not put something like a Feather in this head, it is overkill, with an Astra or the like this head is smooth like a zamboni on ice. This is probably not the best head for a brand-new wet shaver to learn on, but once you got the basics down it will be smooth sailing with the Knight.
