- Traditional hanging style strop for the "cut-throat" enthusiast
- Single-sided, oil-tanned Russian Leather for a durable stropping surface
- Works well with Herold's yellow strop paste
The Herold 181WJ Oil-Tanned Russian Leather Strop is a single sided 3.1"x18.9" strop with metal handle and swivel sewn into the strop. This strop is made from their "Wildjuchtenleder" leather, which is an oil-tanned Russian Leather. It's an interesting surface for stropping. While it does maintain some of the feel of Russian Leather, it won't be to the same level as with the more traditional tanned leather. However, the oil-tanning process does make for a more durable surface. It's quite pliant and easy to use, but fairly ugly at the same time. Just being honest. Finished nicely with a slight edge bevel.
The Herold Yellow Strop Paste is a perfect match for this leather, however, it is not needed often.
These are excellent value strops which cost significantly more when others put their brand name on it. We buy direct from the factory and pass on the savings.
