Omega 599: Great value in quality brush
Great little brush, with emphasis on little - in a good way. Handle is a bit smaller than I expected but plenty enough for comfortable use, plus it provides good control. Who needs a big oversized handle/brush anyway? Lathers well, without having a huge knot. Nothing but good to say about it. Great value.
This brush is my transition from boar to badger. I am pleased with the amount of water it retains. This helps generate more and warmer lather than my other brush. My boar is also an Omega, so the upgrade is not due to a different brand. And, as I have come to expect from Omega, this is a quality brush: after two weeks of shaves, it has yet to lose a hair.
Perfect travel brush
This is a great travel brush - it fits perfectly into the $5 Simpson Case for travel without damaging the brush. It makes great lather and it takes up very little space in my travel kit.
I picked up this brush to replace my pure badger entry level brush as I'm shaving more often and can appreciate the difference now. At $40 this brush is a steal! It whips up lather nicely with B&M soaps either in a bowl or on my face. The brush feels great on my face and is a perfect size in hand (I tend to only grip the ends of the handle so the shorter handle is perfect here, it doesn't get in my way while lathering). Incredibly soft knot with plenty of backbone and moisture retention. No smell at all when using it and no apparent break in period either. As others have noted, it does bloom quite a bit when in use to be much larger than the small knot would suggest. I love this brush!
