Semogue is a small family run business in Portugal with a big name in the wet shaving world. The master craftsmen who create their brushes manufacture "the finest shaving brushes in production today". You can enjoy their exceptional products in a long line of options - from badger to boar, from wood handled to acrylic. They seek to scratch your itch in the wet shaving world. Try their bestselling Semogue 830 Pure Bristle Shaving Brush.

This brush is beloved for its pure boar bristles. If you love a stiff, exfoliating brush then this will be just up your alley. But it is worth noting that the tips will soften up over time, and even get quite soft. Like a nice worn in pair of blue jeans, this brush will age well. Boar is fantastic on shaving soap and works up a fantastic lather.

The Semogue 830 is a classic two-toned acrylic handle that sets off the bristles to perfection. Striking red and clear will add a little spice to your shave - especially if you find your shaving den a monochromatic ivory or chrome. Grab this premium, top of the range brush from Semogue. You won't be disappointed!

Great bang-for-the-buck

This Semogue has a boar bristle, which has more body---is less floppy---than the more expensive badger-bristle models. I like a brush that has more structure to it, and this one delivers. This latest purchase was a gift, but I've had mine for years and it holds up very well----does not lose many bristles---and overall is one of the best shaving products I've ever owned.

Very pleased with my first shaving brush

I'm super pleased with this brush. I'm new to traditional wet shaving, so I spent a long time choosing a brush. I was concerned it would have a weird smell that might trigger my asthma, but I'm happy to report it is scent-free. If you are new to wet shaving, make sure you soak the bristle end of the brush (but not the knot) before use. This makes it softer, minimizes broken hairs, and makes it easier to build lather, even for first-time wet shavers. It's still holding up well seven months after purchase (in fact, it has improved now that it's broken in).

Great Value

Overall, I love my Semogue 830. I think it is a very nice looking, classically styled brush; I love the clear and red handle. I also am a fan of boar brushes, and this one performs very well. My only quibble is that it is a shedder. It loses a hair or two every time I use it. But for the price, it is a great brush and one my go-to's.

Semogue 830 brush

Extreme awesome brush. This is my first boar brush and when I hear people saying that they were stiff I was very exited to try this one, however, this brush in my opinion was not stiff at all. It obviously feels harder than a synthetic or even a badger but this brush was extreme soft at the first use. Very dense yet very soft feeling. It was absolutely amazing. It has an incredible backbone.
