Taylor old bond
Love the scent. Works up easily and provides a great shave.
Great shaving cream
Mr. Taylor is probably my favorite scent of all the shaving creams I've tried, a very mild spiciness combined with an equally mild creamy scent. To me it smells even better on the skin, and the (faint) smell lasts for quite a while. Lots of shaving creams irritate my skin, but with this one I get a mild tingle. Combined with TOBS's Jermyn Street, it doesn't even tingle. And both creams seem to last a long time; you only need an amount the size of a chocolate-covered almond to get a thick lather. Great price for a top-of-the-line cream. If they made it a little cheaper I'd call it a "super value."
I have been ordering this for my husband for over 10 years. It facilitates a close shave and he loves the soft feel after shaving. And there is no overwhelming fragrance.
Great product, great service
I settled on Taylor of Old Bond Street's Mr. Taylor's shaving cream shortly after I started wet shaving, and never looked back. I love the scent and it provides a great cushion. After two Amazon orders resulted receiving the wrong product, I returned to West Coast Shaving and received the correct product almost overnight. Much faster than expected. And it arrived in perfect shape, not all tilted to one side of the container, as I have received before. It was worth the extra money.
Best of both worlds
I have a few of these shaving creams now. My original, sandlewood, I don't even remember, but I know I liked it cause it's gone. Next I got Eton College, then lavender and now Mr. Taylor. After smelling the citrus scent of Eton College I wanted to branch out. I got the lavender but I thought it would be really strong smelling. Instead it's a kind of European laverdar scent and not strong but, the cream really whips up easily to a great cream for shaving. It actually has become the sleeper great soap. But, the Mr. Taylor has come now and I find the scent so nice, kind of reminiscent of the old barbershop smells. And, the cream whips up really nice as well. It's kind of the best of both worlds. A great scent, lingering a tweak longer than lavender. Then the cream whips up really nice as well. Oh yes, I also tried the Platinum. This one has the strongest, longer lasting scent and whips up pretty nice as well. If you are looking for the scent to last, that is the one for you. ****, I like them all and rotate through them like a spoiled child. Love it!
