  • 3" top-grain leather strop
  • Black with D-ring handles
  • Linen prep side

Looking to keep your newly purchased straight edge razor in peak form? Then you need to invest in a strop. This strip of leather is important for lengthening the life of your blade. Stropping helps to remove the microscopic nicks and burrs and aligns the edge to keep you shaving better longer! Together with a prep material, you will have a clean, sharp edge every time you ply the razor. Try out our WCS 3" Hanging Strop, Leather and Linen, Black.

In generations past, a barber would strap his strop to his chair, so it was easily accessible. A hanging strop was designed to hang from the swivel clasp at the top and to be pulled taut to strop. The swivel allows you to flip conveniently between the prep side and the leather. This strop is comprised of top-grain black leather and stamped with the WCS logo. The D-ring handles are sturdy to pull the strip tight. The rivets are brass and chrome-plated. The prep strip is light-colored Linen. Use it before the leather to clean your blade of any moisture/oils/impurities so they don't transfer to your porous leather.

At a generous 3", this grooming utensil offers plenty of real estate for your blade. Make sure as you are honing your technique that you don't "roll the blade" and nick the leather. Take your time to ensure a great shave. This is a wonderful option for expert or novice alike!

First Strop

This strop was recommended by an artisan STR8 razor maker as a good first strop as I’m just starting my journey of shaving with a SRT8. Seems like it’s a good quality piece. I’m glad I got it.

My first strop, Im not

My first strop, I'm not quite sure if I'm doing it exactly right; it seems to take a bit more honing before each shave then what I would expect for a freshly sharpened razor. Overall still shaving to perfection so I'm happy!

I absolutely love mine. For years I have used an old western belt to strop knives, and, later, my razor. I THOUGHT I was doing some good, and was, SOME GOOD. I noticed a difference the first time I used my new strop. I don't even have good wear on it yet and I put another on my Christmas list to hang in the kitchen for my knives there as well.
