Ultimate brush?

I may have found my #1. This is absolutely terrific for face lathering (also works in the bowel, which I do rarely). The knot size is just about perfect for use on the face. I use soaps, generally the harder ones, so I tend to test most any brush. Not this one, which seems to handle most anything I throw at it. It is a monster when it comes to generating lather! And it gives up the lather for multiple passes. Great face-feel with Simpson's best!! (I like a bit of scratch and scrub, just not too much.) Wonderful loft and backbone. Wonderful! (Chubby is a bit much for me and a lather hog to boot.) The handle is also well sized, not too big not too small. This may be the one (if not the only) brush for me.

I want to Love it

This is a beautiful brush with a nice dense knot. The handle is a really nice feel and has all the dimensions that I look for, unfortunatley it always leaves me a little let down. Everytime I use it I go in thinking things will change but it gives me the same results. It doesnt lather up as quickly as some of my other Simpsons and I constantly have to add water to the brush. It never seems to hold more than two shaves for me. I have tried and tried to get it perform the way I think it should but is never does. Its not a cheap brush so I really want it to be in my rotation, but as of yet it has'nt.

The best brush ever?

I'm going to start by contradicting B.L., since he made one mistake in his review: the words "face lathering" need to be removed from his review. Simply put, the Duke 2 is one of the best brushes ever made. The extra-dense knot makes the bristles seem softer than they actually are, so it is as soft on the face as Finest or even, to my mind, Silvertip. The only way to improve on this brush is to make the handle dispense single-malt whiskey or some such malarkey.

Great Brush!

One of the best face lathering brushes ever produced! Very soft, yet with a nice firm feel on the face. Works beautifully with hard soaps or creams. If you face lather, you need one of these!
