If you love the handmade goodness of an artisan product, you will love Chiseled Face Shaving Soaps. Handmade in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Chiseled Face is creating tallow-based artisan shaving soaps with a rabid following.

The soap is a wonderful concoction of natural, moisturizing ingredients that whip up into a frothy lather and provide an amazing shave. The grooming essential is tallow-based to give you an exceptionally close, hydrating shave. It is also loaded with other beneficial components: aloe vera, coconut oil, castor oil, glycerin, mango butter, avocado oil, and silk powder. It lathers easily in the spacious tub so you don't lose any of your precious lubricant.

Inspired by the beautiful, little town of Santa Paula, CA which bears the title "Citrus Capital of the World", this scent is Chiseled Face's homage to bright, light, citrus aromas. This is an all-natural blend of petitgrain, Siberian fir, bitter orange, clary sage, litsea cubeba, Siam wood, and cedar. Light and airy, this fragrance is great of a subtle, everyday aroma.

My favorite fragrance

As far as soaps go, the Santa Paula scent is by far my favorite. And all the Chiseled Face soaps are great performers as well. This soap is can't-miss.

Great as usual

Let me start off by saying that as usual, another excellent performer from Chiseled Face. By far one of the best performing soaps on the market. Because it's a softer soap I usually don't let it soak while i shower. I fill it with water just to wet the surface before lathering and pour it out, then start lathering up a damp brush. An explosion of creamy lather follows. The shave experience is great with a lingering scent, slick shave, and good post shave feel. Now, the scent. As the reviewer below mentioned, not so much citrusy. My nose picks up more of the petigrain/litsea and it has a slightly spicy smell to it. If you are hoping for a citrus blast, this isn't it. After shaving, I rinse the soap (purists will not like this) and then tap the surface a little to soak up some remaining water, especially since our water is hard. I've found the smell on these soaps change a little when leaving them soaked. Overall, excellent product as usual. If you're familiar with the branch and want another interesting scent, I'd recommend this one. If you're new to Chiseled Face, this could be a good one to get introduced with; otherwise, there are many great options and a scentless as well.

Ladies, give this one a try.

I've tried a few other popular Brands of shave soaps and didn't like them, as they dried out on my legs before I finished shaving. I thought the Santa Paula would be a nice scent, with notes of orange and sage in the description. I love how quickly it lathers and it doesn't dry out on my legs during shaving. Now the scent; it's not bad, it's different. Herbal, maybe, not citrusy. I find it produces just as great of a shave as my favorite shave cream, TOBS grapefruit. I use Feather blades, and with this soap I rarely get nicks, unless I'm careless. It leaves my legs moisturized and soft after shaving. I also like that you can lather it in the container that it comes in, without it spilling out over the sides. My husband also likes the Santa Paula more than the shave soap that he is currently using.
